PROVIDENCE, RI March 31, 2021 — The Tech Collective is pleased to announce the promotion of Creusa Michelazzo to the position of Executive Director. Creusa’s proven track record of working with internal and external stakeholders, building meaningful relationships with current and future Tech Collective members and driving technological change throughout the Rhode Island business community has informed this decision. In her new role, Creusa will continue to ensure that Tech Collective expands its footprint as Rhode Island’s Technology Hub, as well as better incorporate diversity, equity and inclusion into all Tech Collective programming.
In March 2019, Creusa joined the Tech Collective as a Program Manager, and in her two years she has shown tremendous growth by quickly becoming an essential member of the Tech Collective team. Throughout the pandemic she has taken on a leadership role and led the team to a smooth transition to virtual work by implementing Microsoft Teams and Planner. Under her direction, the entirety of the Tech Collective team has become far more efficient, productive and results-driven.
Since 2020, Creusa has been heavily involved in the P-Tech Program as its Interim Industry Liaison. Through her creativity and passion, the P-Tech program has undergone a transformation – with the end-result being a far more streamlined approach to bringing tech mentorship to Rhode Island students in such a challenging time. In addition to taking on the responsibility to work with schools, Creusa also helped develop Tech Collective’s “Rhode to Resilience” program, for which she coordinated Tech Collective’s members to offer free cybersecurity consulting services to small businesses.
Joe Devine, who has served as Interim Executive Director since mid-2018 shared, “I’m so happy for Creusa and the Tech Collective! Creusa has helped us build a culture of abundance. Working with our members and partners to create programs at a pace we hadn’t seen. Creusa’s passion for the Tech Collective members and helping people is what drives her incredible work ethic! Her ability to build community and hear our members’ voice will drive the Tech Collective to new heights. I am excited to be handing Creusa the reins and supporting her in my role as Vice Chair of the Board.”
Lisa Shorr, CEO of Secure Future Tech Solutions and an Executive Board Member, shared: “Since joining Tech Collective, Creusa has brought optimism, energy and pure grit to this organization. She is a woman on a mission with a “let’s get it done” attitude. She is passionate about elevating the tech skills in Rhode Island and building a collaborative environment to network and share ideas. Her true resilience was evident in 2020, when she had to completely pivot and offer all of our programs online and ensure the community felt engaged! I am excited to see Creusa apply her grit and resilience to her new role as Executive Director and to cheer her on as she takes Tech Collective to new heights!”
