Attention Women in Tech! Join us for an interactive workshop on financial literacy and how it pertains to your leadership journey on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 from 5:30pm to 7:30pm at Tech Collective. Nina L. Luchka, Vice President, Business Development Officer and Adriana Dawson, Vice President, Community Development Officer from Bank Newport will present the basics of financial literacy and how understanding your company’s basic finances will assist you in achieving greater levels of leadership.
The workshop will further your understanding of financial statements for business operations and strategy, including cash flow statements, balance sheets and income statements. Common financial products and services used by small businesses, as well as important factors when choosing a financial institution and the value of building such a relationship are just a few of the key topics that will be covered.
BankNewport Presenter Bios:
Nina L. Luchka, Vice President; Business Development Officer: With over 25 years in the banking industry, Nina is a member of BankNewport’s Business Banking Group, responsible for business development, commercial loan production, cross sales origination and cross team collaboration. She is also the Bank’s Merchant Service Manager, offering customized credit card acceptance programs to small businesses throughout Rhode Island.
Nina currently serves as second vice chair of the board of the Southern Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce, is president of the board of the South County Growers Association, and is a member of South County Executives.
Adriana Dawson, Vice President; Community Development Officer: Adriana is responsible for administering strategic aspects of BankNewport’s Community Reinvestment Act Program, which includes building and maintaining relationships with community based and non-profit organizations. She was formerly the Assistant Dean of Admissions and Community Engagement for the School of Continuing Studies at Roger Williams University Providence campus, and was state director for the Rhode Island Small Business Development Center at Johnson and Wales University in Providence.
Adriana currently serves as an advisory board member for the Rhode Island State Office of Diversity, Equity and Opportunity, and is a member of the board of the Northern Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce, the West Elmwood Development Corporation and the RISE Women’s Leadership Conference.
