Stop Building the Wrong Things Faster…Reversing the Curse of Agile
October 20 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm EDT
Only 20% of software product features have the positive impact initially intended, 60% have little to no impact while the remaining 20% are a complete failure, their release set the product back.* Product Agility leverages the cadence of Agile to reverse this trend, enabling you to build the right things through a continuous flow between product discovery and delivery. This presentation introduces Product Agility, demonstrating how it merges Agile and Lean Startup principles in a powerful process that sparks self-sustaining and ever-accelerating product growth.
When product discovery and product delivery are aligned on a hypothesis-driven and validated-learning foundation, it creates a nimbleness and flexibility throughout the development process. This alignment enables teams to better manage priorities while accelerating value creation. It also ensures that your product continually evolves to solve problems that exist, are pervasive, and for which a solution has value.
What participants can expect to gain:
- Why shifting towards Product Agility is critical for long term success
- Which organizational shifts in mindset are critical to remove friction and enable the continuous cycle between product discovery and delivery
- How to approach prioritization differently to quickly identify products and features that will have the highest impact
- How to accelerate a transition to the Product Agility cycle
About the presenters:
DAN GALLAGHER is driven by the notion that life is too short to build products people won’t use. After 30 years as a product designer, product manager, product owner, agile team member, product executive, product consultant, and even a scrum master, he has battled on the ground, led from the trenches, fought through the middle, and surveilled from above. He has combined this experience with extensive product research, wisdom from pundits (applied and validated), and life observations to evolve the Product Agility methodology into a powerful force for change in product development
CAITLIN SCHUMAN is driven by understanding how the intersection of business strategy, process excellence, and team behavior drive organizational performance and is fascinated by the organic development of Agile principles in high performing organizations. She has worked across a variety of industries, companies, and strategic questions in her 6 years of consulting and recently has partnered with Dan Gallagher to refine a Product Agility methodology for continuous discovery, validated learning, and Agile delivery.
