With Bitcoin being the best appreciating asset in the world for the last 10 years, donations are on the rise as well. From a tax perspective, Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are treated like stock donations, meaning the donor doesn’t have to pay capital gains tax and gets a nice tax write off.

In this talk, we’ll discuss how nonprofits are positioning to capture this next wave of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency donations. We’ll also discuss what nonprofits are already fundraising Bitcoin and what has made their programs successful.

Short Bio:

Alex Wilson, Co-Founder: Alex’s background is in management consulting where he worked with Fortune 500 companies to develop strategies around emerging technologies like AI, IoT, blockchain and cryptocurrency. In 2018, he and a college friend, Pat Duffy, decided to start The Giving Block. Now, they’ve turned their attention to the nonprofit world where The Giving Block equips nonprofits to accept Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency donations.
