Integrating Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Into Tech Product Design
April 25 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm UTC+0
Why is it important to integrate a diversity, equity, and inclusion framework into technology product design and distribution? As our increasingly “digital native” society creates technologies, such as mobile applications, AI, and virtual reality, to connect people with new information and experiences, existing issues of social and cultural bias present serious challenges for both businesses and consumers.
Join us for a panel discussion featuring four leaders who are at the forefront of this work. Through conversation and information sharing with peers in the field, learn how to make diversity, equity, and inclusion an intentional part of your product design process.
- Banu Ozkazanc-Pan: Visiting Associate Professor of Sociology, Brown University Faculty, The Jonathan M. Nelson Center for Entrepreneurship
- Nina Chow: Project Manager/Business Analyst (PMBA) at Kenzan
- Claude Arnell Milhouse: Co-Founder & CEO of CareerDevs Computer Science Academy; Co-Founder & CTO at Common Connect App; Founder of IntraCity Geeks

The Office of Institutional Diversity at Providence College: The Office of Institutional Diversity (OID) supports the College’s mission to create a rich learning, living, and working environment that affirms the essential dignity of every person. We aspire to be a campus that reflects the rich diversity of God’s creation while simultaneously preparing students for faithful and thoughtful engagement within a global workforce. We work collaboratively across all divisions of the institution as well as the greater community. See how you can get involved.
T-Time Productions: T-Time Productions’ social impact mission is to help address equity issues/gaps in students’ educational environments and experiences. To that end, T-Time Productions is creating and producing a digital curricula library designed to present more expansive and accurate examinations and representations of historical topics, people and events by including demographic populations currently missing in or excluded from textbooks and other classroom materials.
