This free event is an orientation to help newcomers to the startup scene get acquainted with the Providence ecosystem. We will give you the inside scoop on key events/ meetups to attend, people, companies, VCs, blogs, incubators, programs, hot issues, and more.

Tech Collective will host a free panel discussion Aug. 14 with community organizers on Providence’s growing startup culture.

“New tech solutions are emerging every day to improve our lives,” said the group in an event announcement. “This has opened up countless opportunities for jobs and career development in the city, but breaking in is not always easy.”

The panel discussion aims to familiarize newcomers with the startup ecosystem, complete with information on venture capitalists, incubators, key issues, people and companies in industries such as biotech, real estate and social impact, according to Tech Collective.

The panel discussion is from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Tech Collective, 188 Valley St., Providence. Seats are first come, first served.
